Game Day Dog Boarding in Auburn — We've Got Your Pup Covered
Game day in Auburn is an all-day commitment. Tailgating starts before sunrise, kickoff can be noon or night, and by the time the final whistle blows you're not in any condition to rush home and walk the dog. At Kiesel Bark Pet Resort, Auburn gameday dog boarding is something we've handled every season since 2014. We know the Auburn football calendar, we know how game weekends work, and we know that booking early is the only way to guarantee your dog has a spot. Because these dates fill up — fast.
Auburn Gameday Dog Boarding
There's really no other college town in the country quite like Auburn on game day. The whole city transforms. Toomer's Corner gets rolling, Plainsman Park fills up, the Grove — well, that's the other school — but you get the idea. Auburn people take game day seriously, and that means a full Saturday, maybe a full weekend, where your dog simply can't be part of the plan.
That's not a problem. It's just a logistics question, and we're the answer. Your dog spends game day in a clean, climate-controlled kennel with access to the outdoor play yard, getting attention from staff who genuinely like dogs. You spend game day at Jordan-Hare. Everyone wins.
The families who've boarded with us the longest figured out a long time ago that booking Kiesel Bark for home game weekends is just part of the Auburn football routine — same as buying tickets or booking a parking pass. It's the thing you do when the schedule drops.
Home Game Boarding vs. Away Game Road Trips
Gameday boarding at Kiesel Bark comes in two flavors, and both are common:
Home game weekends
You're not going anywhere, but game day is a 12-hour commitment and your house is full of people. Maybe your dog gets anxious with big crowds. Maybe you just don't want to manage them while you're trying to host. Boarding for the night means your dog is calm and comfortable while you enjoy the full game day experience without the logistics.
Away game road trips
Heading to Tuscaloosa, Athens, Baton Rouge, or anywhere else on the SEC road schedule means a full weekend away. You need boarding from Friday afternoon through Sunday pickup. These are our most straightforward multi-night stays — drop off before you leave, pick up when you get back.
Tailgate-only days
Some Auburn families just need daycare for a Saturday tailgate — drop off in the morning, pick up after the game. Daycare runs until noon on Saturdays, so if your plans extend into the afternoon, overnight boarding might be the more practical option.
SEC Championship and bowl games
Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans — wherever Auburn goes postseason, we've had families boarding their dogs for those trips. Extended travel for bowl games sometimes means 4-5 nights of boarding. We handle long stays the same way we handle everything else: same quality, same care.
Dog Boarding
Gameday boarding is overnight boarding — same service, same kennels, same staff. Your dog gets a spacious, climate-controlled kennel, access to our large fenced outdoor play yard throughout the day, and personal attention from our team. We've been providing dog boarding in Auburn since 2014 and game weekends have been part of our rhythm from the very beginning.
What your dog gets during a gameday boarding stay:
- Spacious climate-controlled kennel — cool in Alabama's warm game day weather, comfortable overnight
- Large fenced outdoor play yard — dogs get outside and move throughout the day
- Supervised group play or individual outdoor time depending on your dog's temperament
- Feeding on your schedule using your dog's food
- Medication administration if needed ($1 per dose)
- Staff that pays attention — if something seems off, we reach out
Day Camp on Game Day Saturdays
If you only need Saturday coverage and don't want to board overnight, our Saturday daycare runs from 7am to noon. Drop your dog off before you head to the tailgate, and pick them up by noon. If the game goes late and noon pickup doesn't work, overnight boarding from Friday or Saturday night is the cleaner option.
A lot of Auburn families start with Saturday daycare and end up switching to overnight boarding once they realize that noon pickup on game day is tight. It's worth thinking through your actual game day timeline before you book — especially for night games, which can end well after midnight.
Night game tip: Auburn night games end late. If kickoff is 6pm or 7pm, you're looking at final whistle around 9:30-10pm, then post-game traffic and celebration. Overnight boarding means you don't have to rush home and can pick up Sunday morning at 8am or Sunday afternoon at 4pm instead. Way less stressful.

How Early Should You Book for Auburn Home Games?
The honest answer is: as soon as the schedule drops. Auburn releases its football schedule months in advance, and serious Auburn families — the ones who've been doing this for years — book their dog's boarding dates right alongside their game tickets. That's not an exaggeration. We have regulars who call us in the spring to hold game weekend dates for the following fall.
For everyone else, here's a practical guide:
- Premium matchups (Alabama, Georgia, big SEC games): Book immediately when the schedule releases. These fill weeks out.
- Regular home games: Two to three weeks out is usually fine, but earlier is always safer.
- Away game road trips: Book when you confirm your travel plans — same logic applies.
- Bowl games and postseason: Book as soon as you know Auburn is going. Travel demand spikes and boarding fills with it.
Already too late? Call us anyway at (334) 734-2650. Cancellations happen. We keep a mental list of families who called when we were full, and if something opens up we reach out. It's not guaranteed, but it's worth a two-minute call.
Gameday Dog Boarding FAQs
Yes. Saturday drop-off is available from 7am to noon. For a noon kickoff, aim to drop off by 9 or 10am so you're not rushing to the stadium straight from our parking lot. Early Saturday drop-off is one of our busiest windows on home game weekends — we're ready for it.
No. Our Saturday hours end at noon for drop-off and pickup. For night games, overnight boarding is the right call — drop off Friday or Saturday morning, pick up Sunday at 8–8:30am or 4–5pm. That's a much better experience for you and for your dog than trying to arrange a late-night pickup.
No. Boarding is $26 per night every night of the year. Game weekends, Iron Bowl weekend, regular home games — same rate. We don't charge a premium because it's a high-demand weekend.
Saturday daycare runs 7am to noon at $15. If your game day extends past noon — which most Auburn game days do — overnight boarding from Friday or Saturday night is the more practical option. Think through your actual schedule before you book so you're not in a bind at 11:45am Saturday.
Yes. Extended stays for bowl game travel are something we handle regularly. Just book as soon as you know your travel dates. Bowl game boarding fills up because everyone with Auburn connections is traveling at the same time. First come, first served.

"We absolutely love Kiesel Bark for our boy Ollie! It is obvious he loves his time at Kiesel Bark because he starts wagging his tail and crying every time we pull in the parking lot!"
