Overnight Dog Boarding That Feels Like Home
Every dog deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep at night — especially when their family can't be home. Kiesel Bark Pet Resort has been Auburn's trusted overnight dog boarding facility since 2014. Located at 633 Chadwick Lane, right across from Kiesel Park, we offer spacious climate-controlled kennels, large fenced outdoor play areas, and a staff that genuinely loves every dog that comes through our door. Whether you're traveling for work, heading to a family event, or just need a few nights away, your dog is in good hands with us.
Overnight Dog Boarding in Auburn, AL
A lot of pet parents in Auburn tell us the same thing when they drop off for the first time: "I'm a little nervous." That's completely normal. Leaving your dog overnight — even somewhere you trust — takes a leap of faith. We've been earning that trust from Auburn families for over 11 years, and it's something we don't take lightly.
Our boarding guests spend their days playing in the outdoor yard, relaxing in spacious kennels, and getting plenty of attention from our staff. When the day winds down, they settle into clean, comfortable kennels with enough room to stretch out and actually rest. We keep the environment calm in the evenings — no chaos, no noise, just dogs winding down after a good day.
We're a small, family-owned operation. Justin and Brittany Alexander opened Kiesel Bark right here in Auburn, and it's been a labor of love from day one. When you board with us, you're not handing your dog off to a big corporate chain — you're trusting your pet to people who actually live and work in this community.
Dog Boarding Rates
We work hard to keep boarding affordable for Auburn families. Our pricing is straightforward — no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons.

Medication
Heads up for Auburn football weekends: Our boarding fills up fast on home game weekends. If you're planning to tailgate or have out-of-town guests visiting, book early. We've had families call the week before a big game and not find availability — we'd hate for that to happen to you.
Dog Boarding
Our boarding program is simple but solid. Your dog gets a clean, spacious kennel, access to outdoor play areas throughout the day, and personal attention from staff who know animals. We're open for drop-off and pickup Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm, Saturday from 7am to noon, and Sunday pickups from 8–8:30am and 4–5pm.
- Climate-controlled kennels — comfortable in summer heat and winter cold
- Large fenced outdoor play yard for exercise and fresh air
- Individual kennels sized to give dogs plenty of room
- Staff on-site during all business hours
- Feeding on your schedule using your dog's food (or we provide food for a small fee)
- Medication administration available ($1 per dose)
- Clean facility — we take sanitation seriously
Long Term Boarding
Some Auburn families need boarding for extended trips — a week, two weeks, or more. We've had military families stationed nearby who trusted us to care for their dogs while they were away for months. We've had Auburn University faculty boarding during long research trips. We treat long-term boarding guests the same way we treat every dog: like they matter.
For longer stays, we get to know your dog's routine, quirks, and preferences. Some dogs need extra quiet time. Some want to be first in line for outdoor play. We pay attention and adjust. If anything seems off during a long stay — eating habits change, energy drops — we'll contact you right away.
If you're planning an extended trip, just call us at (334) 734-2650 to talk through the details and make sure we've got your dates locked in.
Holiday Pet Boarding
Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, Fourth of July weekend — these are the times Auburn families most need boarding, and also the times spots fill up fastest. We've been handling holiday rushes for 11 years now, and we've got the logistics worked out. But we do book up, especially during Auburn home football games and major university events.
Holiday boarding is the same quality experience your dog always gets with us — we don't cut corners when things get busy. We'd just encourage you to plan ahead. If you know you're traveling over a holiday, reach out as soon as your plans are set.
Auburn game day tip: If you live near campus or North Auburn and you're spending the whole day at Jordan-Hare, bringing your dog to daycare or overnight boarding is honestly just easier. No worrying about noise stress, no coming home to a torn-up house. Your dog has a great day, you enjoy the game. Win-win.
Medication Administration
A lot of dogs need medication — heart meds, thyroid pills, joint supplements, anxiety treatments. We handle this all the time. Our staff can administer medications on your dog's regular schedule for just $1 per dose. When you drop off, just bring the medication clearly labeled with dosage and timing instructions, and we'll take care of the rest.
If your dog has a more complicated health situation, give us a call before booking so we can make sure we're able to meet their specific needs. We want to be honest with you upfront rather than make promises we can't keep.
Sibling Pet Boarding
Multi-dog households are common in Auburn, and we love when siblings board together. Dogs that live together are usually more comfortable sharing a kennel, which is why we offer that option at a discounted rate. The second dog in the same kennel is $15 per night, and we can accommodate up to 3 dogs from the same family in one kennel.
This setup works well for most bonded pairs and groups — being together actually reduces stress for dogs that are used to each other's company. It's also easier on your wallet.
Flexible Drop Off Hours
We know Auburn families have complicated schedules. Early mornings, late afternoons, game days, early departure flights — we've seen it all. Our hours are designed to work around real life:
- Monday – Friday: 7am – 6pm
- Saturday: 7am – 12pm
- Sunday pickup: 8–8:30am
- Sunday pickup: 4–5pm
What Auburn Dog Owners Ask Us Most
Yes. The whole facility is climate-controlled, so it doesn't matter if it's August in Alabama or a cold January night — your dog stays comfortable. We also keep bedding clean and kennels spacious enough that dogs don't feel cramped.
They get outside. We have a large, fenced outdoor play area and dogs rotate through play and rest throughout the day. The goal is that your dog goes home tired and happy — not pent-up. Boarding with us is closer to a camp stay than a kennel stay.
We've cared for anxious dogs for years. We don't just throw them into group play and hope for the best. We ease them in, watch how they respond, and adjust. Some anxious dogs do fine once they settle in. Others need a bit more solo time and one-on-one attention. We'll pay attention to your dog and do what's right for them. Mention it when you book so we're ready.
For regular weekends, a week or two out is usually fine. For Auburn home football games, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring break — book as soon as you know your dates. Those fill up fast and we'd hate to turn away a regular family because we didn't have space.
We require Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP to be current before boarding. This protects your dog and every other dog in our facility. If you're not sure about your dog's vaccination status, your vet can confirm before you book.
Most Auburn families find us through word of mouth or Google. We're located right across from Kiesel Park on Chadwick Lane, which a lot of locals know from walking their dogs or attending events at the park. If you see the park, you've found us. We've been here since 2014 and have built most of our customer base through Auburn families recommending us to each other.
What Auburn Families Say About Boarding With Us
"We absolutely love Kiesel Bark for our boy Ollie! We take him to day care several days a week and have also boarded him a couple of times with no issues. We love the way the staff cares for Ollie as if he were their own. It is obvious he loves his time at Kiesel Bark because he starts wagging his tail and crying every time we pull in the parking lot!"
"Great staff! They took good care of my pups, despite one of mine being hard to deal with. Highly recommend."
"Even though we live just a few blocks away from another dog-boarding facility, we happily drive all the way across town to Kiesel because they are so wonderful. We will never take our babies anywhere else!!"
"I've had a wonderful experience with the staff and environment here. My husband and I are both National Guardsmen and often depend on boarding for my dogs while we're away. I have no doubt they are getting great care."
Why Auburn Families Choose Kiesel Bark for Overnight Boarding
Auburn is a close-knit community, and word gets around fast. Families who board with us tend to stay with us, and they tell their neighbors, coworkers, and Auburn University colleagues. Over 11 years, we've cared for dogs from all across the Auburn area — from families near Kiesel Park and South College Street to Auburn University faculty on the other side of campus, and families from Opelika and Lee County making the drive in.
What keeps people coming back isn't fancy marketing — it's simple things. Clean facility. Caring staff. Dogs that come home tired and happy. Phone calls returned. A team that actually notices when something's off with a dog. That's it. We're not the flashiest option in the area, but we've been here longer than most, and we plan to keep being here.

- Affordable pricing — we believe good boarding shouldn't break the bank
- Convenient location right across from Kiesel Park
- No corporate chain policies — we treat every dog as an individual
