Dog Bathing Service That Leaves Them Fresh and Clean

Sometimes a full groom isn't what your dog needs — they just need a proper bath. Maybe they rolled in something, maybe it's been a few weeks, maybe you just want them clean and smelling good before guests arrive. At Kiesel Bark Pet Resort, our dog bathing service in Auburn has been keeping dogs clean since 2014. Professional bath, blow dry, and a dog that smells like a dog again — not like whatever they found in the yard.

Dog Bathing Service in Auburn, AL

Our just baths service is exactly what it sounds like — a thorough professional bath and blow dry without the full groom. No haircut, no styling, just a clean dog. It's a popular option for Auburn pet owners who groom their dogs at home or just need a between-appointment refresh, and it's priced accordingly.

What sets a professional bath apart from bathing your dog in the backyard or your own tub is the equipment, the products, and the experience. We use professional-grade shampoos suited to each coat type, proper grooming tubs at the right height, and high-velocity dryers that actually get the coat fully dry — no damp undercoat sitting against the skin for hours. Your dog comes home genuinely clean and genuinely dry.

Bathing is also just less stressful when it happens here. A lot of dogs that fight the home bath experience are perfectly calm at the grooming facility — the environment is different, the handling is confident, and there's no anxious owner on the other end of the leash. It's one of those things that's easier for everyone when it's handled by people who do it every day.

Just Baths

Our just baths service includes a full shampoo, rinse, and blow dry. Priced by weight:

Dog Weight Just Bath Price Includes
0–20 lbs $25 Shampoo, rinse, blow dry
21–45 lbs $30 Shampoo, rinse, blow dry
46–60 lbs $35 Shampoo, rinse, blow dry
61–75 lbs $40 Shampoo, rinse, blow dry
76–90 lbs $75 Shampoo, rinse, blow dry
91+ lbs $85 Shampoo, rinse, blow dry

Want to add a nail trim? Nail trimming is available as a standalone add-on for $10. A lot of Auburn pet parents combine a bath with a nail trim to cover the two most common between-grooming maintenance needs in one trip. Just mention it when you call to schedule.

Dog Bathing and Blow Dry

The blow dry is not optional — it's part of the service. Sending a dog home with a damp undercoat is asking for skin problems, particularly in Alabama's humid climate. Hot spots, bacterial infections, and general skin irritation can develop quickly when moisture sits against the skin. We dry every dog thoroughly before pickup, every time.

We use appropriate drying equipment for each coat type. A thick double-coated breed like a Husky or a Golden needs a different approach than a short-coated Lab or a curly-coated Doodle. Our staff knows the difference and handles the drying process accordingly — not just pointing a dryer at a wet dog and calling it done.

Bath Add-On Services

Deshedding Treatment

A deshedding shampoo and rinse added to the bath that loosens and removes dead undercoat before it ends up on your furniture. $15 for short hair, $20 for medium, $25 for long hair. Particularly worthwhile for Labs, Goldens, German Shepherds, and other high-shed breeds.

Nail Trim Add-On

$10 added to any bath appointment. Nails and bath in one trip — no need to make a separate visit. Most dogs tolerate nail trims better immediately after a bath when their nails are softer and they're already in the grooming headspace.

Flea Cleanse Bath

A flea cleansing shampoo bath for dogs with flea issues. $15. If your dog needs Capstar flea treatment in addition to the bath, that's an additional $10. Between the cleansing bath and the Capstar, you're covering both the fleas on the dog and those trying to hop back on.

Medicated Bath

For dogs with skin conditions, allergies, or dermatological issues requiring medicated shampoo. If your vet has prescribed a medicated bathing routine, we can handle the appointments. Bring the prescribed shampoo or call ahead to discuss what's needed.

Dog Spa Services

Think of a bath appointment at Kiesel Bark as a mini spa day for your dog. It's not just about getting clean — it's about a calm, attentive experience where your dog is handled by people who know what they're doing and genuinely care about the animal in their hands. Your dog gets a warm bath, a thorough dry, and goes home feeling noticeably better than they came in.

Regular bathing is also just good preventive care. The AKC recommends bathing most dogs at least once a month, with more frequent baths for dogs that spend a lot of time outdoors or have skin conditions. Auburn's warm climate and outdoor lifestyle means a lot of local dogs would benefit from more regular baths than they're currently getting. We make it easy to stay on schedule.

Pet Bathing Combined with Boarding

One of the most popular combinations we offer is a bath during a boarding stay. Your dog comes in for an overnight or multi-night stay, we schedule the bath toward the end of the stay, and you pick up a clean dog. It's convenient — one trip, no separate grooming appointment to schedule. A lot of Auburn families specifically request this for before-holiday pickups so their dog is clean and fresh when the family reunites after a trip.

Meg Gray, one of our Auburn customers, described exactly this: calling last minute for a bath during their boarding stay and us working it in. That flexibility is part of what we try to offer — especially for families who are already in the logistics of a trip and just want their dog to come home clean. What Auburn Dog Owners Ask About Dog Bathing

How do I schedule a bath appointment?

Call us at (334) 734-2650 during business hours — Monday through Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday 7am to noon. Bath appointments can usually be scheduled sooner than full grooming appointments, but Saturday slots still fill up, so calling ahead is smart.

How long does a bath take?

A few hours for most dogs. We don't rush the drying process, and some coats take longer than others. Plan to leave your dog with us for at least half a day. We'll give you an estimated pickup time when you drop off.

My dog hates baths at home — will they be okay here?

Probably better than you'd expect. Dogs that fight home baths are often perfectly calm at a professional facility. The handling is confident, the equipment is right, and there's no anxious energy from an owner dreading the mess. We've bathed plenty of dogs that their owners described as impossible at home.

Can I add a nail trim to the bath?

Yes — nail trimming is $10 added to any bath appointment. Just mention it when you call to schedule. It's a popular combination and saves you a separate trip.

What vaccinations does my dog need for a bath appointment?

Same as all our services — Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP must be current. This applies to every dog coming into our facility. If your dog's vaccinations have lapsed, get them updated before you book.

Can I get my dog bathed during their boarding stay?

Yes, and it's a popular option. We schedule the bath toward the end of the stay so your dog goes home clean. Just mention it when you book the boarding stay and we'll coordinate the timing. Even last-minute requests during a stay can often be accommodated — just call and ask.
